The poker world is vast with numerous celebrities, sportspeople and professionals playing the major events and high stakes cash. That’s why in this article we’re going to give a little breakdown on a few of the most famous faces in the poker world. Hopefully, by the end of this article you’ll remember some of these names and spot them when you next watch a poker show.

Phil Hellmuth

Nicknamed “the poker brat”, Phil Hellmuth is well known for his outbursts. He rose to prominence for his WSOP exploits where he has won 15 bracelets. He has a nitty image amongst the big poker players but clearly knows how to exploit the weaker ones. Phil regularly cites he is the best Hold’em player on the planet and whilst we don’t agree he’s the best, he is one of the most famous.

Daniel Negreanu

This Canadian is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable faces on the poker circuit. Nicknamed “the kid”, this prodigy has stayed popular throughout several poker eras. He is the face of GGPoker and regularly identified as the best hand reader around. Negreanu has recently changed his game up, focusing on a GTO approach to poker which is very much the modern way of playing. Doyle Brunson

The grandfather of poker is the default king of poker too. He has won several WSOP main events and authored the most well known poker book of all in “Super System”. Born in Texas, Dolly is renowned for his aggressive approach to games. If you’ve ever had the joy of watching Rounders, you’ll have heard many of Doyle’s famous quotes. Doyle is still playing today at the ripe old age of 88 and it’ll be a sad day when he hangs up his Stetson hat.
